The practice handles a diverse range of high-exposure litigation cases, including business and commercial litigation, construction, environmental issues, and mass torts. Duties

  • Manage a caseload of 25-30 cases involving high-exposure litigation and insurance defense matters.
  • Take depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations.
  • Draft and file pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw and Lexis/Nexis.
  • Review and analyze documents for production and examine briefs and trial transcripts for appellate arguments.
  • Assess insurance policies and analyze claims for coverage issues.
  • Investigate claims and develop strategic approaches for case handling.
  • Provide timely and detailed reporting to insurance carrier clients and insureds.
  • Prepare cases for trial and mediation, and actively participate in these processes.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense.
  • Proven experience in taking depositions.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients and insurance professionals.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
