A law firm based in Washington, D.C. is seeking a skilled Mid-Level FERC Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on administrative litigation involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). This role requires a strong background in complex litigation research, trials, and/or administrative hearings, with an interest in FERC-related issues including oil and gas pipelines, electricity regulation, and enforcement actions. The candidate should possess excellent organizational and writing skills and be proactive and team-oriented.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle complex litigation cases involving FERC regulations and actions, including those related to oil and gas pipelines, electricity regulation, and FERC Enforcement actions.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies and case preparation.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
  • Participate in administrative hearings and trials, providing effective advocacy and representation for clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to develop case strategies and manage case workflows.
  • Monitor and stay updated on developments in FERC regulations and enforcement actions.
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to provide updates and gather information.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on administrative litigation and an interest in FERC matters.
  • Experience in complex litigation research, trials, and/or administrative hearings is essential.
  • Strong organizational and writing skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proactive, supportive, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Admitted, or eligible for admission, to the DC Bar.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the DC Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Superior writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong organizational abilities with experience managing complex litigation cases.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and case management.
  • Knowledge of FERC regulations and procedures is a plus.
