Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: An established and well-respected law firm located in Tampa, FL is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to handle a variety of complex cases within the creditors' rights and default servicing practice areas. The ideal candidate will be a skilled attorney with significant experience in creditor’s rights law and a proven ability to manage high caseloads. Court appearances and some travel may be required.

Duties:

  • Manage and handle a significant volume of cases related to creditor’s rights and default servicing.
  • Represent clients in court and perform legal research, drafting, and discovery work.
  • Resolve issues in discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution efficiently.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring within the team, fostering collaboration.
  • Proactively develop industry relationships to enhance the firm's reputation.
  • Assist with expanding the firm's presence and client base.
  • Travel as necessary for court appearances or client meetings.

Requirements:

  • Membership in good standing with the Rhode Island Bar (additional membership in New Hampshire and Massachusetts a plus).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in default servicing or creditor’s rights law.
  • Experience handling discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Appellate experience and familiarity with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred.
  • Strong leadership, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high caseload efficiently.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and client support.
  • Willingness to appear in court as required and travel for legal obligations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Rhode Island Bar is required.
  • Additional Bar memberships in New Hampshire and Massachusetts are a plus.
