Personal Injury and Child Victims Act Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury and Child Victims Act Attorney to join their team in Melville, NY. This full-time position involves managing a caseload primarily focused on personal injury litigation, negligence claims, and assisting with the Child Victims Act cases. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in plaintiff’s litigation, with a focus on drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and handling court appearances. Duties

• Manage a caseload in the Personal Injury and Child Victims Act Departments
• Draft and prepare complaints, bills of particulars, discovery responses, and demands
• Conduct depositions and manage client interviews
• Handle court appearances and legal proceedings
• Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts
• Assist with case management, including organizing case files and maintaining deadlines
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and provide legal assistance as needed
• Participate in trial preparation, though trial experience is not required

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in personal injury, negligence litigation, or Child Victims Act cases
• Strong knowledge of personal injury law and litigation processes
• Experience drafting legal documents such as complaints, discovery responses, and motions
• Ability to conduct depositions and handle court appearances
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
• NYS Bar Admission required

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active New York State Bar license
