Job Overview A law firm seeks a dedicated attorney to join its team, focusing on municipal code enforcement and related legal matters. This role involves handling cases related to public safety, civil and criminal enforcement, and gun confiscation on behalf of local government clients. The attorney will work closely with municipal officials, attend court hearings, and provide legal guidance on regulatory compliance and enforcement strategies. This position requires travel to client offices and courts throughout California and offers the flexibility of an optional remote work arrangement.

Duties

  • Represent municipal clients in code enforcement and gun confiscation cases.

  • Advise local government agencies on compliance with public safety regulations and enforcement procedures.

  • Prepare and present legal documents, pleadings, and arguments in administrative hearings and court proceedings.

  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations for enforcement actions.

  • Collaborate with municipal officials to develop policies and enforcement strategies.

  • Travel to client offices and courts as needed to provide legal representation and counsel.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

  • 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably in municipal law, public safety, or civil and criminal enforcement.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

  • Strong advocacy and litigation skills, with the ability to present cases effectively in hearings and courtrooms.

  • Willingness to travel within California as required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
