Subrogation Attorney

A law firm in Chicago is seeking an experienced Subrogation Attorney to join its civil litigation team. This role focuses on property subrogation cases, and handling large property loss claims. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of subrogation litigation experience, though candidates with general litigation or construction defect experience will also be considered. Duties:

• Analyze and assess recovery opportunities in large property loss cases.
• Draft pleadings and manage discovery in subrogation actions.
• Take and defend depositions of lay and expert witnesses.
• Prepare cases for trial and represent clients in court.
• Collaborate with clients and other legal teams to develop litigation strategies.
• Handle all aspects of litigation from case initiation through trial.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of subrogation litigation experience (or relevant experience in general litigation or construction defect cases).
• Strong legal research, writing, and analysis skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and client management skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar (required).
