Job Overview:
A leading law firm is currently seeking an experienced Patent Prosecution and Litigation Associate to join their IP Litigation team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals who are passionate about intellectual property law and looking to further their careers in a dynamic and challenging environment. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in patent litigation, case management, and litigation proceedings.

Duties:

  • Manage patent litigation cases from start to finish, including briefing, motions practice, and case management
  • Take and defend depositions, working closely with experts and clients
  • Assist in PTAB proceedings and trial preparations
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic legal advice to clients
  • Participate in business development and client relationship management

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in IP litigation, with a focus on patent prosecution
  • Proven track record of managing cases and mentoring junior team members
  • Demonstrated expertise in motions practice, depositions, and expert witness coordination
  • Ability to work on PTAB and trial matters effectively
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple complex matters simultaneously
  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina or be eligible for admission

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • USPTO registration preferred
  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina or eligible for immediate licensure
