Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a mid-level Business Transactions Associate to join its practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, and a strong understanding of corporate law. Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures will be considered an asset. A background in accounting or tax, or an LL.M. in Taxation, is highly preferred. The candidate must have excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-focused environment.

Location:

Duties:

  • Lead and support complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
  • Assist with securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures
  • Draft, negotiate, and review business transaction agreements
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on business matters
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with a team while managing client matters independently
  • Uphold high standards of client service in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions
  • Experience with securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures is a plus
  • Accounting or tax experience, or an LL.M. in Taxation, strongly preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Proven writing and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail with a client-service mindset

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred but not required)

Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and prioritize tasks effectively
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong client relationship management capabilities
