Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in New York City is seeking an experienced and dedicated Real Estate/Commercial Litigation Attorney. This position offers a dynamic and challenging environment, requiring at least 7 years of real estate and commercial litigation experience. The attorney will manage a growing and diverse client base, including well-known NYC landlords and developers, with significant opportunities for direct client interaction and trial experience. The position is available in either the Uniondale or New York City office.

Duties:

• Represent clients in Landlord-Tenant court, handling motions, petitions, and trials.
• Prepare and draft predicate notices, such as rent demands, termination notices, and notices to cure.
• Draft pleadings for plenary actions involving breach of contract, lease, and guaranty issues.
• Draft lease modifications, surrender agreements, and other landlord-tenant agreements.
• Provide ongoing legal counsel to real estate operators in the NYC region and nationwide.
• Draft motions for summary judgment and motions to compel.
• Manage a significant volume of internal and external communications, ensuring timely responses.
• Occasional late nights and weekends may be necessary to meet client demands and uphold the firm’s standards.
• Trial experience in landlord/tenant cases is a significant advantage.
• Experience with commercial and construction litigation is beneficial.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate and commercial litigation, particularly Landlord-Tenant matters.
• Proficiency in handling NYC-based Landlord-Tenant court appearances.
• Strong background in drafting and negotiating leases, contracts, and related legal documents.
• Trial experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to respond to significant volumes of email communications efficiently.
• Knowledge of both residential and commercial real estate law in NYC is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
