A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Health Plan Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. The role involves advising healthcare clients on strategic transactions, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day corporate matters. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional legal acumen in health plan operations, managed care, and federal/state healthcare laws.

 

Duties:

  • Advise healthcare clients on mergers and acquisitions, equity transactions, venture capital investments, and joint ventures.
  • Assist clients with corporate formations, capital raises, operational strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and draft legal documents related to healthcare transactions and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and communicate directly with clients to provide legal guidance and support.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion within established deadlines.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar (California Bar preferred).
  • 4-6 years of experience practicing law with a focus on health plan operations, regulation, managed care, and healthcare transactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare risk adjustment, STARS ratings, Medicaid regulations, and behavioral health parity.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state laws pertaining to health plans and provider contracting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
