Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in artificial intelligence, software, and related technologies.
  • Conduct thorough patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity analyses.

  • Conduct prior art searches and analyze results to determine the patentability of inventions.
  • Draft and review technical documents, patent applications, and legal opinions.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business goals and technology to provide tailored intellectual property solutions.
  • Represent clients in patent prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Stay updated on patent law developments, particularly in AI, software, and related technologies.
  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys and patent agents.
  • Participate in business development activities to attract new clients and expand client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Strong technical background in electrical/computer science engineering.
  • Deep understanding of artificial intelligence technologies, machine learning, and cloud computing.
  • Experience with patent work in image processing, databases, access management, NLP/NLU, and autonomous machines/vehicles.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Highly driven and motivated to provide top-quality work products.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.

Certifications:

  • Admission to a state bar in good standing.
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
