Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly skilled and experienced Family Law Attorney II to join its team in Everett, WA. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in family law with 4-6 years of experience, including mediation and trial experience. This role requires excellent legal research and writing skills, a professional attitude, and strong interpersonal communication skills. The attorney will manage a busy caseload, perform legal research, and represent clients in family law matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducted mediation and participated in trials for family law cases.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Draft memorandums, briefs, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and other employees.
  • Organize and manage time efficiently to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Market legal services to prospective clients.
  • Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information for litigation preparation.
  • Conduct due diligence in legal matters related to contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • If necessary, manage a schedule to accommodate consultations and meet production/collection objectives, including outside core hours and weekends.
  • Achieve 30-50% closure rates for consultations, depending on the practice area.
  • Approve invoices on time to ensure the financial health of the business.
  • Ensure full utilization and productivity of support staff.
  • Accurately update client contact (CC) systems with fees, engagement, trust, client information, and invoices.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to share work tasks and meet firm objectives.
  • Engage in personal and firm brand expansion through blogging, social media, board participation, and other activities.
  • Actively seek positive client feedback and star reviews.
  • Communicate and advise clients effectively.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
  • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the Washington State Bar.
  • 4-6 years of experience practicing law.
  • Mediation experience.
  • Trial experience.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional attitude and a strong sense of discretion.
