Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney to provide high-quality legal services to a large and diverse client base. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior partners and staff to deliver successful outcomes for clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research and writing skills, the ability to manage a heavy caseload, and proficiency with modern legal software.

Location:

Duties:

  • Analyze client needs and develop effective case strategies
  • Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Represent clients in court and argue motions during legal proceedings
  • Supervise paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff
  • Prepare and organize legal documents such as briefs, motions, settlement agreements, and affidavits
  • Ensure client files are up-to-date and accessible to other attorneys and staff
  • Review client legal matters and provide guidance on the best course of action
  • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure timely and efficient case management
  • Meet with clients as necessary to discuss their cases
  • Attend hearings or other legal proceedings and offer general counsel to clients
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring all deadlines are met

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in family law
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases
  • Strong decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Active membership in the local bar association (preferred)
  • Proficiency in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis)
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office
  • Successful completion of the bar exam
  • Ability to collaborate with other attorneys to best serve client needs and grow the firm's client base
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Solid organizational skills to manage client files and case documents effectively

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar (Texas preferred)
