A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Case Development Intake Attorney to join the team in San Antonio, TX. This role is ideal for a recent law school graduate or an attorney with some personal injury experience looking to make a significant impact on case development and client intake. The attorney will work closely with a case manager to handle a docket of approximately 50 cases, developing case facts, gathering evidence, and preparing cases for transfer to the litigation team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and play a pivotal role in the early stages of case development.

Duties:

  • Manage a docket of personal injury cases in various stages of development.
  • Investigate and gather evidence, including accident reports, photographs, witness statements, and social media records.
  • Order and organize medical records, lifetime driving records, and other case-related documentation.
  • Communicate with clients, adjusters, and other parties to ensure all necessary information is gathered.
  • Assist in preparing demands and negotiating settlements for specific cases.
  • Handle property damage claims and ensure timely submission of expense requests.
  • Draft and send status update letters to clients, ensuring clear communication about case progress.
  • Meet with clients in person, over the phone, or via DocuSign for case sign-ups and status updates.
  • Ensure all work complies with firm policies and legal/ethical obligations.
  • Support clients during the intake process and prepare files for transfer to the litigation team.
  • Provide after-hours on-call support for new client intake and case sign-ups.
  • Perform legal research and analysis as needed to support case development.
  • Supervise and lead non-attorney support staff, ensuring high performance and client satisfaction.
  • Take on additional projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas and in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in personal injury law (preferred but not required).
  • Strong commitment to client service and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous customer service or sales experience is a plus.
  • Ability to handle client communications professionally and effectively.
  • Experience supervising non-attorney staff is preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent management, leadership, and delegation skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management tools.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
