A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking an International Trade Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience, focusing on trade litigation including antidumping and countervailing duty matters. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, experience in customs, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Duties:

  • Handle trade litigation matters, particularly antidumping and countervailing duty cases.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings before US agencies such as the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the Department of Commerce.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on international trade issues, including customs regulations and compliance.
  • Assist with client communications and manage client relationships.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings and trials.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar and in good standing.
  • 2-3 years of experience in international trade law, with a focus on trade litigation (antidumping and countervailing duty).
  • Clerkship experience and/or background in customs law preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials demonstrating top-tier performance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and overseas as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with international trade laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Experience with customs compliance, investigations, and audits.
  • Fluency in additional languages is advantageous.
