Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
• Evaluate cases and provide strategic advice to clients.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Assist in hearings and trials, serving as first and/or second chair on several matters.
• Engage in regular client interactions, including meetings and case updates.
• Manage a caseload involving complex commercial contract disputes and landlord-tenant disputes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong skills in legal writing, research, and case management.
• Experience in litigation procedures, including depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Client-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Washington, DC (required).
• Licenses in Maryland and/or Virginia are preferred but not mandatory.
