Job Overview:
A prominent law firm, located in Rochester, NY, is looking for an experienced Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their Real Estate & Finance Practice Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional with a passion for real estate law, providing legal counsel for both commercial and residential real estate transactions. The firm represents a wide variety of clients including financial institutions, developers, businesses, and municipalities.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, sales, leasing, and development.
  • Handle real estate finance matters, including mortgage lending and related negotiations.
  • Represent clients such as developers, investors, businesses, and financial institutions in various real estate projects.
  • Work closely with closing teams, overseeing non-attorney closing personnel to ensure smooth and accurate transactions.
  • Assist clients with regulatory compliance, zoning issues, and real estate tax incentives (e.g., tax credits).
  • Draft and negotiate legal documents, including purchase agreements, leases, financing agreements, and closing documents.
  • Manage multiple transactions simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Stay up-to-date with real estate laws, regulations, and trends to provide proactive legal advice.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience in commercial real estate law.
  • Expertise in acquisitions, sales, development, leasing, and real estate finance.
  • Strong background in managing non-attorney closing personnel.
  • Ability to handle complex real estate transactions with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • New York State Bar admission is required.
  • Tax credit experience is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York State.
