A law firm in Tampa, FL, is seeking an experienced Energy Transition Transactional Associate Attorney with a focus on hydrogen, carbon capture, renewable fuels, lithium extraction, and other energy transition areas. The role involves handling complex transactional and project development matters within the energy sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation on a variety of energy transition projects, including hydrogen, carbon capture, renewable fuels, and lithium extraction.
  • Advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, land purchase agreements, offtake agreements (such as power purchase agreements), pore space leases, hydrogen purchase agreements, lithium extraction leases, joint venture agreements, partnership agreements, and LLC agreements.
  • Negotiate and draft project documents including EPC contracts, BOP contracts, equipment supply agreements, procurement agreements, O&M agreements, and related agreements.
  • Assist clients with transitioning from traditional upstream and midstream oil and gas projects to the energy transition sector.
  • Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and provide legal opinions on energy transition issues.
  • Manage project timelines and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admission to and active membership in the Bar of Florida or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in transactional law, with a focus on energy transition projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hydrogen, carbon capture, renewable fuels, lithium extraction, and other energy transition technologies.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • JD from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admission to the Bar of Florida or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
