A law firm seeks a seasoned Creditor's Rights Attorney to join its dynamic team in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creditor's rights law, particularly in mortgage foreclosure and collections. This role requires a dedicated professional to manage a substantial caseload while delivering exceptional client support and contributing to the firm's growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in all aspects of creditor's rights focusing on mortgage foreclosure and collections.
  • Manage a significant volume of cases efficiently, ensuring timely progress and resolution.
  • Conduct and participate in discovery practices, depositions, and conflict resolution efforts.
  • Engage in court appearances, potentially requiring travel for hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the firm's reputation as a leader in creditor's rights law.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior attorneys, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code.
  • Be prepared for after-hours coverage as needed to meet client demands.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the South Carolina Bar.
  • Eligibility to obtain a license in the federal district and bankruptcy courts of South Carolina promptly.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage foreclosure and collections law.
  • Proven experience in appellate law is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the South Carolina state legal system.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding client service with sound judgment.
