Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a dedicated Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its growing practice in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will bring at least 1 year of experience in workers' compensation law, preferably with a focus on defense. This role will involve managing an assigned caseload and handling various aspects of discovery, including depositions, witness interviews, and motion preparation. Trial experience is advantageous but not essential. The position offers an opportunity to work independently while contributing to a dynamic team.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of workers' compensation matters, handling all aspects of case development and progression.
• Conduct discovery, including taking depositions, interviewing witnesses, and drafting responses to written discovery.
• Prepare and file legal motions, pleadings, and other necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to ensure effective case management.
• Engage in trial preparation and representation when necessary, depending on case needs.
• Stay updated on the latest legal trends and changes in Georgia workers' compensation law.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in workers' compensation law, with a preference for defense experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
• Strong discovery experience, including taking depositions and drafting legal motions.
• Trial experience is preferred, but not required.
• A positive, collaborative approach and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Exceptional attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and strong legal research abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership with the Georgia Bar in good standing.
