Job Title: Personal Injury Attorney (2+ years experience)

Job Overview:
A law firm in Manassas, VA is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to represent clients in personal injury litigation and provide expert legal counsel throughout all stages of legal proceedings. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing cases from inception to trial, demonstrating excellent legal research and negotiation skills, and providing high-level client service.

Duties:

  • Manage personal injury cases from start to finish.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients on potential claims and their rights.
  • Draft, review, and modify motions, pleadings, demand letters, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
  • Research legal precedents, liability, and damages analysis, and gather necessary evidence including medical records and insurance policies.
  • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and expert witnesses to gather essential information.
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Oversee case management systems and maintain detailed case files.
  • Supervise a team of legal staff including paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Prepare for trials by conducting depositions and preparing trial exhibits.
  • Perform administrative and management tasks related to the legal practice.
  • Identify coverage sources for clients and provide additional legal advice as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of personal injury law experience.
  • VA State Bar License (required).
  • Strong experience with legal research, including using Westlaw or similar tools.
  • Experience in litigation, mediation, and trial preparation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive client matters with professionalism and confidentiality.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (required).

Certifications:

  • Active VA State Bar License (required).
