A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its civil litigation practice in Augusta, GA. This full-time role is ideal for an attorney with a keen interest in litigation and the opportunity to work on a broad range of state and federal court matters. The successful candidate will support the firm’s partners and clients while developing their skills in legal research, drafting, discovery, and trial preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early career attorney to gain hands-on experience in a variety of complex legal matters.

Duties

  • Collaborate with partners and other attorneys to provide legal services to corporate and individual clients.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with discovery processes, including drafting requests, reviewing documents, and preparing evidence.
  • Participate in hearings, trial preparation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed and addressing their legal concerns.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives within the firm.

Requirements

  • 0-5 years of legal experience, with a focus on civil litigation preferred.
  • Barred in Georgia and/or South Carolina.
  • Strong academic background and a commitment to ethical legal practice.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Georgia and/or South Carolina State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
