Trademark Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Trademark Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trademark searching, global trademark strategy development, and domestic and international trademark prosecution and enforcement. Duties

• Conduct comprehensive trademark searches and analyses to advise clients on trademark availability and potential conflicts.
• Develop and implement global trademark strategies for clients, including managing international trademark portfolios.
• Oversee domestic and international trademark prosecution and enforcement processes.
• Handle TTAB (Trademark Trial and Appeal Board) proceedings and UDRP (Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy) proceedings.
• Manage online and social media trademark enforcement, monitoring and addressing potential infringements.
• Draft and review trademark-related documents, including applications, oppositions, and cancellations.
• Provide clients with strategic advice on trademark protection and brand management.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals to support clients' intellectual property needs.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in trademark law.
• Demonstrated experience with trademark searching, global strategy development, and prosecution/enforcement.
• Knowledge of TTAB proceedings, UDRP proceedings, and online/social media enforcement.
• Superior writing and communication skills.
• Foreign language skills are highly valued.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Utah (or ability to obtain).
