Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking an experienced intellectual property litigation associate attorney. The successful candidate will handle various IP litigation matters, including patent, trade secret, trademark, and copyright disputes, as well as strategic IP-related agreements. This role involves significant client interaction and responsibility.

Duties:

• Represent clients in intellectual property litigation, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights.
• Manage and strategize all aspects of IP litigation, from initial case assessment through resolution.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Prepare and present oral arguments and handle depositions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and managing expectations.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure case progress and client satisfaction.
• Maintain familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and procedural rules.
• Manage case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience in intellectual property litigation.
• Excellent academic credentials with a strong record of academic achievement.
• Experience with litigation in the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York is preferred.
• Superb writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in New York State.
• Membership in the Patent Bar is preferred but not required.

Skills:

• Expertise in IP litigation, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
• Background in software or electrical engineering is a plus.
• Proven ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
