Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Associate Attorney to join its family law practice in Austin, TX. This hybrid role offers a balance between in-office/court duties and remote work, allowing flexibility while maintaining client-focused representation. The ideal candidate will possess significant family law experience and a proven track record in litigation and trial advocacy. In addition to managing complex family law cases, the Senior Associate Attorney will mentor junior associates and collaborate with the firm's leadership to deliver top-notch legal services.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence, and property division cases.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and apply relevant family law regulations and case precedents to provide effective legal representation.
  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel to clients, explaining their rights, options, and potential outcomes.
  • Advocate for clients in court hearings, trials, depositions, and mediation sessions.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Attorney and mentor junior associates within the firm.
  • Monitor and manage cases, ensuring deadlines are met and client goals are achieved.
  • Utilize case management software to track billable hours and ensure effective case progress.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in family law litigation, with a focus on Texas family law.
  • Strong background in courtroom advocacy, including trial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to handle a high volume of cases while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and case management tools.
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for in-office/court attendance.
  • Capable of working independently and managing remote work responsibilities effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Texas Bar license required.
