  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other professionals to assess patent portfolios and develop strategies.
  • Conduct legal research on patent law, case law, and technological advancements.
  • Attend hearings and support clients in patent litigation proceedings.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships while providing high-quality legal advice.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution, including application drafting.
  • Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields (such as physics or mathematics).
  • Experience with additional intellectual property areas is beneficial.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be barred in South Carolina.
  • Registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD is a plus).

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the South Carolina Bar.
  • USPTO registration is required.
