As part of a dynamic legal team, the Immigration Attorney will work closely with experienced professionals, manage a caseload, and interact directly with clients to develop and execute effective legal strategies.

Duties

• Provide legal counsel to clients on a range of immigration issues, ensuring clarity and strategic direction.
• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and accurate case progression.
• Conduct intake interviews and provide legal assistance to detained individuals at various centers.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and edit immigration application packets, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration law updates.
• Meet with potential clients to evaluate their legal needs and determine an appropriate course of action.
• Develop case strategies, and prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS interviews.
• Draft legal briefs, motions, and other legal documents for various immigration-related cases.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active CA Bar admission (law graduates awaiting admission will be considered).
• Previous exposure to immigration law, whether through clinics, internships, or volunteer work.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively within a team environment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• Active admission to CA Bar (or pending admission).
