A law firm seeks a skilled Litigation Associate to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role is ideal for candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in commercial litigation, commercial construction, or government contracts. The selected attorney will represent contractors involved in both public and private projects and engage in arbitration and litigation before various courts and contract appeal boards.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in commercial litigation, including arbitration and trial proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and manage complex legal matters.
  • Engage in substantive client contact, providing legal advice and support throughout the litigation process.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research to support case preparation and argumentation.
  • Maintain communication with clients, keeping them informed about case developments.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in commercial litigation or related fields.
  • Admission to the D.C. Bar (or eligibility to waive in); Maryland and/or Virginia Bar admission is a plus.
  • Proven ability to represent contractors on public and private projects.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the D.C. Bar; additional bar admissions are advantageous.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
