Six Months Imprisonment For Former Ropes & Gray Associate Santarlas
Former Ropes & Gray associate Brien Santarlas was sentenced to six months imprisonment on Wednesday, for selling information about Ropes clients to ex-Galleon trader Zvi Goffer. Santarlas hoped to receive leniency in his sentencing because of his cooperation with the government. The punishment was ordered by the U.S. district court judge Richard Sullivan almost two years after Santarlas pleaded guilty. The judge also ordered Santarlas to pay $32,500 forfeiture and tacked on a $200 special assessment.
