"If my grades were not stellar, but my work since graduating has been exceptional, should I mention how much I've improved or should I avoid bringing up my law school grades altogether?"
There's absolutely no reason to talk about your law school grades when you're out of law school. People may ask about it, but there really isn't any reason. And the big thing about law school grades is they're just something that employers use to evaluate you when you're in law school, they don't really matter as much when you're out of law school. Certain firms will make a big deal about them. Especially if you didn't go to a top law school, they expect you to have done very well, but most law firms do not take your grades very seriously for a long period of time after you get out. They're just not that concerned about them.
