"If I'm doing my best to listen in an interview, is there a chance I might talk too little? Would it bother an interviewer if I only answer what is asked of me and I don't go into long stories?"
Yeah, you don't want to go into long stories in your interview. The point is you don't want to go off on a tangent and talk about too many things. You want to try to be focused. Attorneys are supposed to be direct, and so the way an attorney thinks is - when you're talking to a judge, for example, you need to be clear and concise and direct. You need to be as direct as possible, the more direct you are the better, but you don't want to be curt. You want to connect, but you want to basically tell the facts and you don't want to go into too much detail, because if you do, people are going to get bored. A lot of times people are just asking questions because they have to, they're more interested in what they think. And so you need to be very careful about that.
