How Do Patent Attorneys Juggle Between Careers
[00:00:00] Have you heard of any patent attorneys seriously thinking about transitioning again, back into the science and engineering careers? If they are inclined to move forward and backward while keeping their law licenses active, what questions should people be asking you or speaking with?
A lot of times people do go back into science and engineering and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Many times people find it much more interesting than practicing law because you're working on new areas and I think you can do that.
There are all sorts of things about patent attorneys, but the big thing with most patent attorneys is that you can keep the license is active. I've seen patent attorneys transition back into law firms and so forth after having gone back into work. Patent attorneys are just many times looked at and evaluated a little bit differently than people in other practice settings.
It's something to think about meaning like if you're a litigator, it would probably be difficult to go back and work as an English teacher or something if you'd done that before. But if you have a science background, it's not that hard.
