Why It's Easier For Patent Prosecutors To Get A Job Remotely Than In Other Practice Areas
[00:00:00] Could you continue telling me about the same question in terms of the prosecution?
In terms of patent prosecution, there are a lot of remote opportunities for patent prosecutors, patent prosecutions, a little different other types of work. The reason is if it's very cerebral. Imagine sitting down and working on very difficult puzzles all day. That's how it is.
The knowledge and work that goes into it, a lot of times is done in person and many times, they're not even billing by the hour per patent. You're being paid by the piece, as opposed to hourly. That's how the clients are being charged, not as concerned about you actually doing the work.
I do think that doing remote work in patent prosecution is perfectly fine. And I think that there are a lot more opportunities for a remote patent then there are on other practice areas. The other reason for that is that the state bar is much split.
So that's important patent prosecution where it's most important as being admitted at the patent bar, which is national. It's a different bar than any state bar. And patent attorneys practice at the patent office or the patent bar.
You need to basically be admitted there. It's much easier to get a job remotely as a patent prosecutor than it is [00:01:00] another practice area.
