How Attitude and Work Experience Bring Forth Your Quality as an Attorney
[00:00:00] Are graduates of top law schools actually better lawyers?
No reason that going to a top law school makes you a better lawyer than any other type of attorney. There are a lot of skills that the attorney needs. Ability and reasoning that has a lot to do with your ability to figure things out.
A good law school is a sign of drive and achievement. So, no. Going to a good law school doesn't matter.
What do you need to do? Regardless of the law school you go to, you need to get the best training you can from your senior attorneys. People can become good attorneys, regardless of where they went to law school. Regardless of what their background is. The wealthiest in the country and the people that are in various magazines and different cities are always the ones that didn't go to law school. It's about getting business. Bonding with people. It's about all sorts of things that have nothing to do, with your ability to do well on tests, and so forth. What I can tell you though, is people that are very smart and do very well in the LSAT and typically, can figure out legal matters much more quickly than other people. And that can make a big difference. That skill can be [00:01:00] acquired. The longer you are in a certain practice area, the more experience you get. You're not confronted with a lot of new fab patterns all the time, so that's not going to matter.
No. The law school you go to isn't that important. What's important are things like your resilience, your drive, your ability to improve, and all that sort of stuff.
