How Law Firms Being Risk Averse Resolve Hiring
[00:00:00] How does this translate for plaintiff's work?
I've been doing this profession for so long and I've tried to transition people from plaintiff to defendant, from small firms to big firms and so forth, all the time.
The big thing to understand is, large defense firms are risk averse, because, it's easier for them to hire a litigator that bills out 3 million a year in defense work, than it is to hire a litigator that brings 5 million in fees to the firm in plaintiff work.
One is risky and the other isn't, so they don't want to be in a position where they're advancing this person that makes 5 million, and they lose money and they know that this person is bringing in 3 million. It's just easy and has a history of doing that. So, that's just something to think about.
These law firms are very risk averse. You need to be careful with that.
