You'll Be Made Partner Only When it's Downright Crazy Not To
[00:00:00] Law firms have different types of partners, so they have typically a junior partner and then they'll have equity partners.
To be a partner in a law firm just requires a lot of dedication.
The law firm needs to be convinced that this is really your number one priority in your life to partner in them. And, the question is this. Is it really? And then we'll see how you're going to do whatever it takes, equity partners. The idea is you need to go all out and this is your life.
That's the best way to think about it. You need to show commitment. I believe the other kind of person that can bring in business, they need to believe that the number one priority is to serve this law firm and do the absolute best work you can.
And if they see that and they believe it then you're competing with people that are also trying to become partner. In many cases, it depends on the size of the law firm. The the larger the law firm the the harder it's going to be and the smaller the law firm, many times the easier it's going to be. And I think the number one thing [00:01:00] is really commitment. The more you seem passionate. The law firm wants to basically see this person is representative of what we are. And then, ultimately a lot more money.
The law firm really has to look at you and law firm has to say, this person provides so much value.
You're in a position where you are throwing off so much value that the law firm would be nuts, then they will make you a partner.
