Building an Online Network Through Curated Groups
[00:00:00] How to build a network as a fresher during pandemic times, when the legal market is really grim and we are starting from scratch. How to build strong networking when we are compelled to stay mostly at home.
There are still lots of online groups. In these online groups, there are all sorts of people that you can get in touch with. Get a group. Stay in touch with law school classmates. You can stay in touch with your professors. There are all sorts of things you can do. These are things that I recommend doing. I recommend that you do whatever you can to find and seek-out groups. There are ABA groups, there are APA and Lawyers, all these different things. With all these, you're looking to make connections and get to know people which can lead to opportunities. For example, there's one group that I wanted to join at one point. It was called Ted. It's technology, entertainment, design, and so, I applied to work with them. And they said you can be part of this other Ted group for a while until you might become part of the main group. And so, I thought that would be a good network. And so then I started meeting people that were part of the main group that would come to this other group. And basically, [00:01:00] you had to know them, before you could get into the main group.
You had to network in the second group to get to that main group. Anytime, you join any group, it can lead to much better things.
