Why Lack of Commitment Sets You Back the Most from Making Partner
[00:00:00] What types of attorneys will likely never become partners.
Good question.
..will never become partners for one reason or another? And what might those reasons be?
Firms will make you partner for all sorts of reasons but the reasons they won't be low hours.
Not doing good work.
Personality problems.
It could be a lack of commitment. This means you don't seem committed. Those are some of the main reasons I think that law firms don't do that. And they could also be very difficult to work with, is one, but not always. Things along those lines are typically the most common.
There are certainly a lot of other reasons that law firms won't make you partner but are never going to be co-partnered. Those are the big ones. The people that are most likely not to ever make partners are usually the people that just don't have a lot of commitment.
They're not committed, they're not available. They prioritize other things over their job. So the law firm has no incentive to make someone like that, a partner.
