Tips for Foreign Graduates Who Would Want to Practice Patent Law in the US
[00:00:00] Can a graduate from a different country become a patent attorney?
Yes, if you're in I don't know where you are, but you certainly can become a patent attorney. You have to come to the U S and then I believe take a an exam. But, come to think of it, I haven't seen a lot of patent attorneys from other countries. Maybe there's a bar at the federal level, but I don't think there is.
You could become a patent agent, I believe from another country. And, if you became a patent agent, you could certainly go to law school then get an LLM to become a patent attorney, but again, don't quote me on this. This is not my expertise. I'm just, I'm telling you what I think is possible.
So I think law graduates that haven't passed the bar exam can be called law graduates. Sometimes you just call them clerks.
