Possible Reasons When Law Firms Show Eagerness in Hiring
[00:00:00] I was hired by a small firm after a screener with the hiring partner. I was very excited but could this signal that the firm was eager to hire someone?
No. All this means is that they need help right away. Sometimes, firms will hire people very quickly after a screener. It doesn't mean they're eager to replace someone. It could mean that you're going to replace someone, but it could also mean that they're just, eager to hire someone. Law firms, eager to hire someone may be losing money by not getting work done and there could be all sorts of things going on there where they may need help on matters immediately. All sorts of things could be going on. These are just things you need to be aware of and not worry about.
Now, a firm that doesn't spend a lot of time hiring you. That can be risky because if they're hiring you that quickly they may have been reckless. And so many times it is important to ask. Am I replacing someone? What happened to that person or what have people done in this position before? Where people have gone after this position? So sometimes you can ask those sorts of questions to get better answers.
That can be helpful. But in [00:01:00] most cases, you do want to understand why they're hiring you that quickly, but if there's nothing wrong with being hired quickly, it's typical that the firm is just having an immediate need, which is the big thing.
