Okay, so yes, you're better off describing an experience that is not generic. Everyone expects a litigator to do legal research and draft different documents and things you're talking about. You're better off describing different types of things rather than being general. One of the reasons that the ranking of the firm you're at is so important is that there are different requirements in terms of what's expected of individuals at different types of firms.
Many of you may become solo practitioners and work in smaller firms; you may do different things. Typically the people that are best in anything, whether it's athletes, music, or anything, are the people that can spend a lot of time becoming experts in something and look at things in a lot of depth.
What you need help understanding, this is your business. Being an attorney gives you a license to go out there and run a business, and you're selling your skills and the work you do. And so that's what your resume is. It's your sales.
