You only burn out if you're doing work you don't enjoy. So it would help if you enjoyed working in a law firm. It's not going to be fun. Your first three to five years are always going to be an apprenticeship. No one talks about really loving being a resident hospital. No one talks about love. It's sometimes going to be fun, but the big thing about working in a law firm is that no one will ever tell you to slow down cause it is not in their best interest to you. So you need to know when to slow down. And that means you have to have some rules. Your rules could be: I go to church every week, exercise every day, or meditate once a day. You have to have some rules that you use to protect your sanity and yourself. And the thing is, partners in large law firms are still energized.
They get strength from it. And so what are they doing that's different? So you must watch and get role models because many partners in large law firms enjoy us. So it would help if you looked at what people are doing that are successful, And most people that are successful are probably getting strength from the environment that they're in.
