It depends on the kind of partner that you're with. I don't know. Everyone needs a support mechanism, whether having a significant other or many close friends, so I don't know that it is better to be single.
I think that many times the demands of working in a law firm can interfere with your family, so you need to have the correct type of person you're with. There are lots of couples I've seen that have done very well where they're both attorneys and large law firms, which can be very helpful.
