When anyone is a young attorney, you have a much different energy level than you will have. When you're older, you're also more open to learning. And so law firms that are giving you a lot of work when you're young that are very prestigious will teach you how to do things right. They'll give you a lot of work, typically teach you a lot of lower-level tasks, and expect you to become proficient in that before you get to a higher level.
Get the training first, and then once you have the training, it will put you in much better shape later on. Having a work-life balance is good. You may want to have a work-life balance at some point in your career, meaning you may decide that. That's more important to you than working in a demanding environment.
It may be healthier for you and more appropriate for your disposition. So there's nothing wrong with that. But if I was you and I was young, I would take the fun one that gives you the best training when you're young. Because that training, by the way, makes a big difference.
